Or maybe you can see why I have such an affection for this virtual pinboard based on the photo above. Those binders are FULL of tutorials printed from websites/blogs, recipes, magazine pages....anything & everything that I ever wanted to catalog for future reference. Prior to Pinterest, I Googled searched via Images...so, for me, Pinterest is like Google Image Search on crack!!


Will I trash them all? Probably not!

Ugly Cabinet

9/1/11-UPDATE....yep, this is taking a little longer
to finish than I had anticipated...and it's not for the lack of help,
but just the opposite.  Lil Miss Cutie Pie decided
to help me paint the interior of the cabinet yesterday.
She painted.....oh yeah, she painted......EVERYTHING!
So, I'm doing a little clean-up today & hope to get this
sucker up in Pie's room SOON!

This little cutie pie is the proud new owner of a 

 Goodwill "cavinet" that will be transformed into an armoire.  

I was freaking my hubby out with my search for a gun cabinet to redo, so this cabinet had to suffice. 

I have to admit, aside from paying waaay more than I wanted to for this piece,

 I am pretty giddy about my purchase.  

Before getting a migraine the size of hurricane Irene, 

I managed to get one coat of paint on.  

As-is the girls think it's "bee-u-tiful" and little one 

"lufs it so much"

Stayed tuned for the reveal. 

....and there WILL be one,

 I  pinky promise.

Wild Hair Wednesday

Painting with Annie Sloan, Kids & Kitty

I promised the girls that I would let them help me paint the

 table base that I bought at a yard sale last weekend.  

They were so excited to finally get to help 

mommy paint a piece of furniture. R thought that the table 

was looking so "coo-ooo-ewl". 

Muffin was over-seeing the job to make sure the girls 

didn't get too wild & crazy. 

I think the girls did a pretty good job.  

Annie Sloan paint is pretty forgiving...... 

so I didn't have to worry about streaks or drips

or the girls just making a mess, in general. 

AS is pretty easy to wash off skin too, 

but I have a secret weapon that I will share in another post

for removing AS, spray paint and latex paint.  

I can't wait to sand & wax this piece.

I LOVE hand-made fabric flowers.  This is the 1st ring that I've seen. 

 Looks simple enough. 

I might get around to it ....one day!

We went to the park today. It was coooooooold!

Grocery Shopping Goddesses!

I didn't think grocery shopping would ever be possible again with 1 child, much less 2, but thanks to Publix and the newness of the "big cars & cookies", I have successfully AND sanely purchased a cart full of groceries recently. Here's hoping the newness doesn't wear off anytime soon and the "I want, I want" stage doesn't rear it's ugly head anytime soon either!

So......I'm sitting here waiting on the HVAC repairman to come fix our heat that has been out for 2 days now. I'm FREEZING!!
I'm paying bills, catching up on emails, trying to clean the house a little....trying to stay warm and getting grumpier by the minute......then up pops this little ray of SUNSHINE to make it all better : )
